We at Dr. P G V strive to provide education that explores, challenges, and grooms every aspect of the child’s personality. We believe that all children can learn and commit to nurturing the potential in each child. We focus on contextual learning based on the constructivist theory of teaching and learning to provide techniques such as problem-solving, learning by doing, and inquiry-based learning activities. Our teachers help students to test their ideas and draw conclusions and inferences in a collaborative learning environment, which transforms the students to become active participants in the learning process. Nowadays, the children get everything very easily. They are rarely denied their wants as a result if they lose the value and worth of anything. This is reflected in their behavior too. They are not prepared to take ‘no’ for an answer. It is here that education plays an important role. The curriculum should very subtly integrate moral values. It should be such that it prepares a smooth sailing of a child from a student’s life to being a worthy member of the country.
We have many value-added programs to develop the various skills of the students. Smart Money Programme, a certificate course on smart money finance literacy conducted by the National Centre for Financial Education, Mumbai. Cambridge English Exam by Cambridge University Press, England, provides an internationally recognized certificate showing the level students have attained in English. Apart from this, IBM SkillsBuild is introduced, which offers free learning, support, and resources to foster STEM and new collar skills for students to entry-level employment.
The SDE exam and its coaching develop the students’ Reading, Writing, and Speaking skills. The Mentor System, regular PAT (Periodic Assessment Test), TRAP (Top Rank Achievers Programme), and career guidance program bring out the maximum potential of the students of Std X, XI, and XII in their public exams. The Institution Relationship Programme gives our outgoing students a clear idea of selecting their field for their higher studies.
It has been our earnest endeavor to not only promote intellectual and physical abilities but also raise the emotional intelligence of the children. Values of peace, love, justice, honesty, cleanliness, social concern, the quest for learning, integrity, and creativity are assimilated in the policy and actions of the school, which help in the holistic growth of every child.
